The reality of health care in Gujarat is very different from what Modi claims. Less than 1% of the state’s GDP is spent on healthcare while the actual expenditure is lowest in India.
Furthermore, 38.5% of children in Gujarat below 5 years of age are stunted while 54.9% female population (15-49 years) and 40% children (under 5 years) are underweight. The highest number of swine flu cases were recorded in Gujarat along with the second highest number of deaths.
