Interestingly, 97% electrification was already complete by the time NDA came to power in 2014. NDA government had only about 18,500 villages to be electrified. UPA rate of electrification was 12,030 villages per year while that of NDA was 4,842 villages per year. With the UPA’s rate they could have achieved the target in less than 2 years but it took them 4 years to do so. Moreover, many reports and videos have flourished in which people have alleged that their villages have not seen electricity till date.
