CM Siddaramaiah, in August 2015, Siddaramiah wrote to the Prime minister seeking his intervention for convening an interstate meeting. The centre’s response was termed as inadequate after the all-party meeting. Karnataka filed an interim application asking for 7 TMC of water in December 2015 which was rejected in July 2016.
Goa, a BJP led state, did not turn up for the meeting organised by Maharashtra. BJP promised to resolve the Mahadayi water dispute. In December, 2017 BJP claimed to have made a breakthrough. Yedurappa met the agitating farmers on the 4th day of the protest in December 2017 only to inform that he “cannot help.” Clearly it was the BJP who misled the people.
